Oak Lawn
Voted the number one "gayborhood" in the nation by Out Traveler, Oak Lawn is the epicenter of LGBTQ culture in Dallas. Gay bars and nightclubs are commonplace in this popular neighborhood and its culinary scene is nothing less than noteworthy. The neighborhood is also very walkable, and less than two miles away from Downtown Dallas and other notable districts.
Cathedral Of Hope
The Cathedral of Hope, United Church of Christ stands out as being the world's largest inclusive liberal Christian church, primarily serving the LGBTQ community in Dallas. They offer both traditional and contemporary services on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Resource Center Dallas
The Resource Center serves as the primary LGBTQ organization in North Texas, operating one of the largest LGBTQ community centers in the U.S. The Resource Center offers several programs and services to the community including, health and medical services, support groups, and community events like Gay Bingo.
Uptown Players
Enjoy a musical performance that celebrates the LGBTQ community. Uptown Players is an award-winning, non-profit organization whose mission is to present professional theater that meets a rising demand in the community for the LGBTQ audience to see their life experiences represented on stage. Turtle Creek Chorale
Hear the beautiful voices of the Turtle Creek Chorale, a male musical group that has been performing in Dallas for nearly 40 years. Although a primarily gay men’s chorus, the Turtle Creek Chorale welcomes all men, as well as those who identify as male, regardless of sexual orientation. The group offers an annual mainstage concert series including holiday, spring and summer showcases at the Moody Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District.
The Women's Chorus Of Dallas
Once the only chorus in Texas predominantly made up of gay women, The Women’s Chorus of Dallas is recognized as one of the nation’s finest women’s choruses welcoming diverse women of all ages, race and sexual identity. The Women’s Chorus performs three season concerts each year.
Bishop Arts District
This charming few blocks in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas has remained one of the most eclectic mixtures of restaurants, bars, and retail businesses even as it’s expanded its boundaries in recent years. Located in the heart of neighborhoods populated by LGBTQ+ residents, many of the businesses are owned by LGBTQ+ people or otherwise welcoming to everyone.
