Top Things to Do in Dallas This Winter
Breeze through the season with these bucket-list-worthy experiences.
Dallas offers so many fun experiences that we recommend devising a wintertime bucket list! Each experience from the list below will be available throughout the cold-weather season.
Watch the Mavs and Stars at the American Airlines Center
The Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars both enter the winter as playoff contenders! The Mavs welcome the two most recent world champions, led by world-famous stars LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, before Christmas Day. The Stars challenge the Minnesota Wild, one of the league's best teams, and conclude 2021 with a New Year's Eve showdown against the Colorado Avalanche.
Craft with friends and drinks
There are a plethora of gift-giving holidays throughout the winter, so why not create a gift from scratch while enjoying drinks with your buddies? The Upstairs Circus in Deep Ellum revolutionizes the crafting experience by incorporating a do-it-yourself proje ct into your visit. Along with a creative bar menu, the craft project menu features options such as creating a stone serving tray, a leather pet collar, distressed wood art and much more!
Get Electric
Just up the street from Upstairs Circle is Deep Ellum's newest entertainment hotspot – Electric Shuffle! These are not your grandpa's shuffleboards. Complete with two bars and two floors of shuffleboards, they have reimagined the game with modern steampunk style and epic technology. Grab a few cocktails like the notorious F.I.G mule or a Bold Fashioned and head to your board where you can leave the score keeping up to the computers. The custom-built tables can fit up to 16 of your closet friends so make reservations with your most competitive companions.
Go to a concert
One of the most iconic musicians of all time, Elton John, makes his final Dallas appearance at the American Airlines Center (AAC). Sensational artists Bad Bunny, Tyler the Creator and Kacey Musgraves also perform at AAC. South Side Ballroom showcases Louis Tomlinson, and the House of Blues features Mat Kearney and Kaleo. It's safe to say Dallas has a stacked lineup this winter!
Visit Dallas World Aquarium
One of the most prestigious aquariums in the world, the Dallas World Aquarium, boasts seven stories worth of exhibits and a 400,000-gallon display in Dallas' West End Historic District! You'll encounter some spine-tingling sharks, crocodiles, stingrays and piranhas and adorable manatees, penguins and sloths. This attraction also includes three restaurants with Tex-Mex, deli sandwiches and pizza.
Go bowling
Cold weather won't stop you from playing indoor sports, so bowling with friends, food and drinks belongs on every winter to-do list! Bowlounge promises a laid-back bowling experience with delicious pizza, wings, cocktails and beer. Bowlski's guarantees a steampunk setup with uncovered bowling machines, supplemented with live music, tacos and a Ranch Water cocktail.
