RuPaul's Drag Race, now in its ninth season, continues to gain momentum as an unstoppable cultural phenomenon. Once only available on the Logo TV network and through streaming services such as iTunes, the show will now broadcast on VH1 starting Friday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m.
During the first eight seasons and two rounds of all-stars competitions, a trio of North Texas beauties graced the stage and became household names around the globe.
Shangela Laquifa Wadley, Kennedy Davenport and Alyssa Edwards each became fan favorites well outside their Dallas zip codes during their combined five seasons on the air. The gracious and talented performers pop up frequently around town, including the city's premiere drag showplace, The Rose Room at Station 4. And even if you don't catch one of these popular divas, you would not be disappointed by another yet-to-be-discovered queen who will appear on a future season.
And if that's not enough drag deliciousness for you, several favorites from RuPaul's Drag Race will appear at the House of Blues on March 31 for Haters Roast - The Shady Tour.
You never know, Alyssa, Kennedy or Shangela might just be seated next to you in the audience or make a special appearance onstage!
