What is the Margarita Mile?

The Margarita Mile is a self-guided tour of the best margaritas throughout Dallas served at some of the most delicious restaurants and bars in the city. While most are close to the city center, we're happy to provide stops in some of Dallas' most popular neighborhood beyond Downtown.

How long is the Margarita Mile?

Everything is bigger in Texas and that includes the Margarita Mile. While most restaurants are located within five miles of each other close to downtown, there are two stops on the tour way out at DFW International Airport for any airborne visitors wishing to kick off or wrap up their Dallas adventure with a refreshing drink.

How did Dallas become the Official Home of the Frozen Margarita?

It's all thanks to Mariano Martinez. In 1971, Mariano's Hacienda couldn't keep up with the demand for their delicious margaritas. The consistency wasn't very, well, consistent. So Mariano and a friend, Frank Adams, tinkered with an old soft-serve ice cream machine and invented the world's first frozen margarita machine. The rest is delicious history.

You'll get a text and email giving you access to your individual pass where you can quickly check in whenever you visit a new stop on the tour. Each check-in will reward you 100 points. Collect points along the way and use them to claim Margarita Mile swag items to commemorate your experience.

• The Margarita Mile is “gamified”, which means you earn and collect points as you check into locations on the Margarita Mile and use those points to select Margarita Mile merch and prizes.
• Participants earn points by checking in to your location by using the GPS feature on their phone. You will get credit if they’re at the restaurant location, no purchase is required.
• Prizes are fulfilled by Visit Dallas.
• The Margarita Mile is a seasonal self-guided tour. The 2024 will kick-off on May 1 (before Cinco De Mayo) and close on November 6 (following Día de los Muertos).
