In May, VisitDallas and the Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District (DTPID) announced a collaborative initiative to lead the nation by becoming the first destination to receive Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR accreditation designating Dallas hotels, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, and selected city-owned arts and cultural institutions as sanitary and safe.

The program includes 20 elements that must be met before accreditation is met. As of the publish date of this blog, the following Dallas hotels are currently enrolled in the GBAC program. Please check with each individual hotel as they have not all yet announced opening dates!

Far North Dallas

These hotels near the Galleria Dallas make for a great escape if shopping is on your agenda. Their close proximity to the shopping center and various restaurants is great for a family getaway!

North Dallas

Enjoy some local favorites with this hotel's proximity to the shops in Preston Center, and even more options in Plaza at Preston Center just across the street. Bonus: NorthPark Center is just down the road!

A Downtown hotel makes getting around to Dallas best' neighborhoods a breeze. Take advantage of free rides on the McKinney Avenue Trolley to explore northward, or head south on the Dallas Streetcar to get to the Bishop Arts District.

Market Center/Design District

Social distancing is easy in the Design District, thanks to restaurants in the area with spacious patios and plenty of room to spread out. Rodeo Goat and Ferris Wheeler's are both a sunny stroll away from each of these hotels:

Luxury is the name of the game in Uptown. And along with that luxury, both of these hotels are doing their part to keep your traveling group safe. Enjoy the hotel's amenities, or venture out for a walk for local eats.

Editor's Note: We'll continue adding hotels to this list as more apply to the program. If you're a hotel interested in learning more, the author listed below is your best contact.
