It's safe to say the phrase 'a night on the town' is most commonly associated with partying and hitting the club. But what if you're looking for alternate entertainment into the wee hours of the night? Luckily, Dallas has a plethora of late-night activities that don't have to involve drinking and can be fun for the family too!

City Views

It's no secret Dallas has arguably one of the best skylines in the world. Naturally, the evening is the best time to see it in all its glory. One of the most magical ways to experience the Dallas skyline is by booking a Reunion Tower GeO-Deck Observation. Not only does the indoor/outdoor deck include telescopes creating an up-close experience, but it also gives you a 360-degree  view 470 feet in the air! Ticket prices vary.

There's nothing more satisfying than belting out your favorite jams alongside friends and family.

Encore Family Karaoke is the perfect place to emulate your favorite musical artists with no shame. The 14-room establishment provides a private space to accommodate groups and has a full kitchen. What's best is they're open until 2 a.m.!

Get Artsy

What's better than interactive installations in a high-tech park? Experiencing them for free!  When you visit the AT&T Discovery District, you can enjoy plenty of lawn space, creative installations and an abundance of food options. In addition to art, this Downtown Dallas attraction hosts a slew of events including concerts, parades, DJs and more. Stay as late as 2 a.m.

On Thursdays, Dallas' Perot Museum offers Thursdays on Tap at the Perot. The event - which takes place from 6 - 10 p.m. - features live music, food and drinks from local businesses, and full access to exhibit halls. Leave the kiddos at home for this one, because it's 21 & up only.

Solve a Murder

Put your thinking caps on and enjoy a late-night murder mystery with The Murder Mystery Co. In addition to solving a crime, the two-hour event comes with a three-course meal. Themed murder mystery dinners include Midnight at the Masquerade, Til' Death Do Us Part, A Dance with Death and more! If you're not able to make it to a public showing, plan a private event for you and your crew!

Book It

The library isn't the only place to enjoy a good book. The Wild Detectives, in the Bishop Arts District, is the perfect spot to enjoy a good read. The quaint bookstore not only serves coffee, tea and cocktails, but also has a cozy outdoor patio in the back of the building. Aside from reading, the venue also has a calendar full of events including musical performances. The Wild Detectives is open every day from 10 a.m. to midnight.

Fun and Games

Unleashing your inner kid is never a bad idea. While the options are abundant during the day, there are still a handful of things to do at night. Grab your family or a group of friends to take a trip back to the 11th century by visiting Medieval Times. The show includes a tournament where knights compete to protect the throne, all while guests enjoy a four-course meal. The latest show begins at 8 p.m.

When it comes to the ultimate arcade experience, Dave and Buster's is the go-to spot in Dallas. From the games to the wide selection of food and prizes - there's something for everyone - at any age. Stay as late as 1 a.m. on the weekend!
