Pioneer Field is home to the softball team that was awarded the Sport Turf Managers Association Softball Field of the Year for the College/University division in 2002. The field is complete with a large press box, two dugouts with personal restrooms, water fountains, a 27 foot scoreboard, and includes batting cages. The field is composed of the same surface the Rangers play on, and it is constructed to NCAA and high school requirements so that it can host national tournaments and highs school playoff games.
