Where to see Holiday Lights in Dallas
From a mall pop-up abounding with photo ops to gorgeous light displays in the Arts District, there are plenty of chances to make special holiday memories in 2020.
To top off a truly unforgettable year, grab a hot beverage and some people you love to take advantage of these family-friendly, socially-distanced holiday light experiences around town. While it may look different from normal, you can still make sure December is the most wonderful time of the year!
Candy Cane Lane (Victory Park) - At the American Airlines Center, you'll find a festive collection of holiday lights, character displays and other attractions while driving through the AAC's Silver parking garage. This is a great nighttime activity in December, as it allows you to stay warm in the car and still get a socially-distanced photo with Santa and his elves. After dining at Victory Park's North Italia or Mesero, pack your car with hot cocoa and loved ones to get into the Christmas spirit at Candy Cane Lane. Admission is $40 per car or $60 for the VIP package. Purchase tickets here.
The 12 Days of Christmas at Night (East Dallas) - Part of the Dallas Arboretum's holiday display, the 12 Days of Christmas at Night exhibit is inspired by the famous song and features lit gazebos with pipers piping, swans swimming and more. From now until Dec. 30, you can book your advance ticket to the exhibit, also offering one million lights, strolls through the picturesque Christmas Village, live entertainment and of course, visits with Santa. Bring a picnic basket to eat onsite or enjoy the garden's Holiday Dinner at the DeGolyer Restaurant. There's nothing else like the Arboretum's display in town, and it never disappoints - just don't delay on getting tickets or you might miss your shot! Purchase tickets here.
Dallas Zoo Lights Drive-Thru (South Dallas) - Our beloved hometown zoo has created a slightly different Zoo Lights experience that allows guests to drive through an impressive lights show. For $65 per car (non-member price), you will be immersed in the zoo's holiday illumination from the comfort of your vehicle. Guests might even catch a glimpse of some animals while traveling through, and holiday packages are available to enhance the fun. Tickets must be bought ahead of time, and you'll be assigned a time to arrive. Get your tickets and learn more here.
Reliant Lights Your Holidays (Arts District) - Head to Sammons Park to see half a million LED holiday lights bringing Christmas cheer from Dec. 4 to Dec. 20. Walk or drive through the AT&T Performing Arts Center and discover performances from local artists such as the Texas Ballet Theatre on Friday and Saturday nights. Guests are being asked to wear face coverings and social distance. Learn more about the event and featured performances here.
SNOWDAY Winter Pop-Up (North Dallas) - A social media influencer's paradise, SNOWDAY's Wondrous Adventure at Galleria Dallas takes travelers through 11 holiday-themed rooms made to be unique photo backdrops. Set up to keep you safe, the pop-up's wristband technology allows visitors to access their professional snapshots in a seamless, no-touch fashion. While not a traditional Christmas light display, you never know what you'll find around each corner at SNOWDAY - offered until Jan. 3 - and that's what makes it fun! And don't we all need more fun in 2020? Get your tickets and learn more here.
Christmas Lights, Chocolate & Sips Tours (Downtown Dallas) - Gather some friends for one of Dallas by Chocolate's Christmas Lights tours through the Park Cities and Downtown Dallas this season. There are all ages and adult-only versions of the tour, during which you'll ride in a heated motorcoach and sample decadent desserts while gallivanting around town. Take in the holiday sights and tastes on the signature chocolate tour or a themed event, such as the "Tacos, Margaritas & Christmas Lights" tour or wine tasting/pizza offering. Book your tickets here.
Kessler Park (Oak Cliff) - This historic part of Oak Cliff always brings droves of visitors around the holidays, thanks to groups of neighbors boasting beautiful lights outside their homes as part of an annual decorating competition. Not only can you spot Dallas' breathtaking skyline from this part of the city, but you'll love the festive decorations of Kessler Park. Find Colorado Avenue and drive through the neighborhood. Afterwards, hit the Bishop Arts District for a bite to eat.
