1. All the selfie possibilities
If you didn't take a selfie during your getaway to Dallas, it's like you were never here. Check out the flying Pegasus at the Omni Hotel and The Eye at the Joule Hotel for unique photo ops downtown. Take a walk on the Ron Kirk Pedestrian Bridge for great night time shots overlooking the skyline, and get artsy with street murals in the Deep Ellum neighborhood. And be the "I" in BIG by taking your photo inside the B&G sets scattered throughout the city. (Look out for the holiday sets at the Omni Hotel and Galleria Dallas!)

2. Great weather year-round

We may not get snow during the holidays, but who doesn't love 70-degree weather this time of year? Take advantage of the mild season with a stroll through Klyde Warren Park with the kiddos and stay for lunch at the food trucks that stop by daily. Or enjoy an outdoor lunch on the patio at Trinity Groves in West Dallas or the Katy Trail Ice House in Uptown.

3Shopping, shopping and more shopping

Dallas has an abundance of great shopping options for every budget and style. Hit the staples like NorthPark Center and the  Galleria Dallas, and check out all their holiday happenings during your tripMake a stop at the flagship Neiman Marcus store downtown before doing some boutique shopping in the Knox-Henderson and Bishop Arts neighborhoods.

4. The holiday line up

Santa and friends kicked off Big D Holiday this month and the line up for this annual holiday extravaganza is chock full of fun for the whole family. Check out the entire list and start making plans for your weekend getaway to Dallas this holiday season. 5. Exciting annual events

No matter when you're in Dallas, there's always something on the calendar to get you pumped for your trip. Along with Big D Holiday, spring time comes with Dallas Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum and the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in March. And get an early kick off to summer at the annual AT&T Byron Nelson and Taste of Dallas. You'll know fall is here when Big Tex and the State Fair of Texas arrive, and then we're deep into Halloween revelries, autumn fun and a spectacular lineup of fall festivals and plenty of football.

6. The arts & culture scene

Dallas is a city of superlatives - bigger, better, brighter - and all aptly describe the Dallas Arts District, spanning 19 city blocks and the epicenter of arts and culture in Dallas. Here you'll find the private-turned-public collection of the Nasher Sculpture Center, the rich sounds of the Meyerson Symphony Center and the serene beauty of the Crow Collection of Asian Art.

7. Our vibrant, distinct neighborhoods

Whatever experience you're looking for, Dallas has something for you. From the lively bar scene along McKinney Avenue in Uptown, to the eclectic and artsy feel of Deep Ellum, to the pure serenity of White Rock Lake in East Dallas – there's so much the city has to offer. And we can't forget about all the great restaurants and shops in every neighborhood to make your trip even better.

8. World-class attractions

There's never a shortage of things to do and explore in Dallas, and you can see it all with the Dallas CityPASS.  It lets you visit four of our top attractions, including the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Zoo, Sixth Floor Museum, Dallas Arboretum, George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum and Reunion Tower GeO-Deck.

9. Turkey all year round

With stellar barbecue joints all over the place in Dallas, it can feel like Thanksgiving season all year. Get your meat fix at Lockhart in the Bishop Arts District with a plate of smoked turkey with jalapeno mac and cheese on the side, or go to Slow Bone in the Design District for finger-licking turkey alongside their famous cornbread. For a turkey craving at lunch, head to Full Circle Tavern in the Cedars/Southside District for the Gobble Gobble, an oven-roasted turkey sandwich with homemade cornbread, cranberry sauce and gravy on a wheat brioche bun.

10. Two words: Dallas Cowboys

Being home to America's Team comes with all the perks. The Dallas Cowboys are our pride and joy, and there's plenty of chances to get up close and personal with all things Cowboys. See the 'boys in action at a home game this season (there's three home games left!) or enjoy year-round tours of AT&T Stadium and The Star.
