1. Barcelona Wine Bar

A Denver favorite, Barcelona made its way to the Dallas dining scene in early 2020 and joined a dynamic mix of restaurants in the Knox/Henderson Avenue neighborhood. The restaurant instantly welcomes you with big windows, generous indoor seating and a quaint patio setting. The sangria will start flowing shortly but pay attention because there are some stand outs on the menu. The cheeseboard offerings alone will get you salivating (drunken goat cheese, please!) and the Hungarian pig jamón is a can't miss treat. The paella is also fantastic, but it's definitely one to be shared, especially if you're trying to go for the Flan Catalán for dessert (and we think you should).
2. Café Madrid

The OG when it comes to tapas in Dallas, Café Madrid embodies the European dining experience. The restaurant is small and caters to a more intimate, low-key vibe. Sidewalk tables keep you in the action of all the traffic coming off the Katy Trail, and you have plenty of shops to explore just steps away. Café Madrid wins points with us for a stellar red wine menu, as well as all the classic tapas you'd expect.
3. Si Tapas
2207 Allen Street
Tucked into a charming cottage in Uptown, Si Tapas is our choice for a celebration-friendly tapas outing. The menu takes a modern twist to tapas and its ambiance matches, making it ideal as a pregame spot before a night out on McKinney Avenue. There's also a gorgeous patio to enjoy – and with milder winters here, the heating they have set up will be plenty for chilly nights. Bonus: the restaurant is known for showing Real Madrid games throughout the year and there's a full bar to indulge while you watch!
4. Sketches of Spain
321 N Zang Boulevard
While technically a pincho bar (different than tapas), we included Sketches of Spain on this list because it's not one to be missed. The restaurant sits inside a small house a few minutes' walk away from the main bustle of the Bishop Arts District, and it's definitely worth the venture from the well-worn path along Bishop Avenue. Spanish ham croquettes and feira-style octopus await, as does a daily happy hour (5:00 - 7:00 p.m., on weekdays; 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays).
