Welcome to Dallas' most popular choice for sushi and Asian-fusion dining! As a highly respected outgrowth of the original Little Katana now located at Cole and Knox, Black Ship Little Katana features the best of both East and West cultures that can be savored within our cuisine. Guest can anticipate our creative spin on traditional Asian dishes with a Western flare, meticulously crafted to excite the American palate. Flavorful, freshly delectable, and uniquely original—this is the Black Ship style!

Why “Black Ship?” In 8152, Matthew Perry, father of the USA Steam Navy, was assigned a diplomatic mission by American President Millard Fillmore to open Japanese ports to trade with the West. The Admiral sailed for steam ships from Norfolk, Virginia to Japan. Along the trip the salt water oxidized the metal ships black. At that time, the Japanese had never seen such machines and referred to them as the “black ships”. This we where we proudly take our name.
